Introduction:

She just had a full dinner, it wasn't hunger.

As she walked into the kitchen, an overwhelming desire... craving... need for that doughnut on the counter took over.

But why?

Emotional Eating

She wasn't hungry... but the feeling was so strong.

THIS is why emotional eaters struggle with TRUSTING their FEELINGS.

It "feels" like the only option is to eat the doughnut.

It's there, smelling good, looking good, the feeling is strong.

But let's not stop there.

You need to know the rest of the story.

The difference is that she had us (me and our group) to hold her newly found desire for peace around food choices, as an anker and support system for the Truth.

The value of such a group is the gift of a 2 second pause where everything changes, and suddenly you have a choice.

In that moment she was able to identify the trigger... and it wasn't the doughnut!

She could either eat the doughnut...

OR....

She could walk back into the living room and tell her husband that she was uncomfortable with something he did just before dinner.

Making the distinction between SAD hunger .... and TRUE hunger is the key to unlocking the beautiful power of being able to TRUST your feelings.

Healing from the ravages of uncontrolled emotional eating starts with realizing your emotions are your biggest asset.

Just knowing that you are being triggered is not as helpful as knowing what your feelings are actually trying to tell you.

Learn to Trust your Feelings - they are your biggest helpers.
